JUNE 2006 - ZONE ONLINE


Days are running out to enter the draw to win the XBOX360. To enter you purchase games at a WA Darkzone store and receive an entry form. The more games you purchase the more chances you have to win.

The competitions closes 2nd July 2006 and is drawn on Monday 3rd of July 2006. The winner will be notified by phone so be sure you write down the correct phone number, if your number is unreadable or wrong another entry will be drawn.

There are also lots of consolation prices to be won like Darkzone Pens, Free Game Vouchers, Ultimate 10 Passes and more...


A big well done to SUPER RIGGO from Northbridge and 5LK from Willetton for taking out their League Seasons this year. I was lucky enough to play in the Northbridge Finals and it was once again some awesome Zone, I ventured down on Wednesday Night to Willetton and helped REF the finals there and watch the 5LK victory.

SUPER RIGGO were always the favourites to win at Northbridge, captained by CAPT_AUS and with team mates SLIMEY, SPYN, NITREA & FAB backing him up, they took out the title of Premiers for the Autumn Season. They played very well and deserved the win. Well done guys!

5LK was a totally different story, they started the night in the first Ascension game, but trialling a new finals system suggested by PATTO it meant they had to play a total of 11 games to complete the finals night, 8 of those games just to reach the Grand Final. This team is no team of Champions either, each player as an individual is a pretty average player, but as a team they became a Champion Team, their communication skills were 110% for the night and they more than deserved the win. Well done guys!

The cheering on the announcement of 5LK winning was nothing I'd seen before, they had a lot of supporters who stayed and watched their games from the other teams and were even cheered on by the other teams from the Grand Final Games. Great sportsmanship guys, a pet on the back for all the Willo League Players and of course the two running the show, SLIMEY & ANTHONY.


The new League Seasons are starting at both stores.

NORTHBRIDGE starts Monday the 3rd of July
WILLETTON starts Wednesday the 5th of July.

There's a fun week you can attend for $12 the week before if you want to meet some of the players and join a team, it's a good week to come down and practice and/or orgnaise your teams.

League is only $12 each week and if you've never played League before you only pay $7 for the first four weeks. You need Darkzone Membership to play but we can sell that to you a discounted price on League Night too.

It's teams of five players and the season runs for about 12 weeks. You don't have to have a team of five to play we can find players to join your team so no matter how many of you there are, give us a call and we can help you get started.

Big Thank You to our friends in Hobart for a fantastic week. Dorky, Stormcrow and myself (Wombat) decided to make the trek to Hobart on the Queens Birthday Weekend (over there, not in WA) to play in a FREE tournament at the Hobart Centre. (It was freezing over there.)

We didn't do so well but we had a ball. Thanks to Ben smith (Hobart) & Barry Peak (Boxhill) for filling in on our team for the weekend, was great fun playing with you both, even if we did come last. I think I tagged you guys more than the opposition.

Five teams in all battled it out, two from Hobart, two from Victoria and one from WA. Was great to catch up with old friends from previous National Titles and also the chance to make some new friends. Hobart will definitely be a force to reckon with again at the National Titles in Campbelltown this year in late July.


Back due to popular demand, MEMBERS NIGHTS. Don't be deterred by the name, the nights aren't full of the TOP 10 players from the state, on the contrary, you'll find a lot of new players there and have a lot of fun. Members Nights are the only open session where you can experience the multitude of different game formats we have on offer with Darkzone Laser Game Equipment

Games like Zone Ball, Time Warrior, Stealth Hunter, Base Flags and more...

Members Nights will be on Tuesdays at Northbridge and Thursdays at Willetton and will run between 7pm and 9pm. On the School Holidays we will run both until 10pm, but the price is the same. Our introductory price is a low $10 per person to attend. The first night is Tuesday the 11th of July 2006 at Northbridge and Thursday 13th at the Willetton store.

Members Nights are only open to Members so don't forget your membership chip. (Memberships can be purchased on the night.)


Next Doubles Tournament will be held SUNDAY 25th JUNE 2006 AT WILLETTON FROM 5PM UNTIL 7PM. Get there prior to 5pm to enter your pair and purchase your tickets. This tournament does run with a handicap system so even if you're only new to the game, don't be afraid, come join in the fun.


School Holidays are only around the corner and to celebrate we have Mega-Pass on Sale for $24 throughout July. $24 gets you 4 games (5 if you're a member) that you can play anytime before 31st August 2006. Once you use up all your games you can trade in your used card and purchase your next Mega-Pass for only $22. Don't forget to check the Members Calendar to see what date you can purchase them even cheaper.
